Along with easy deployment and centralized management capabilities, the Cisco 800 Series access router offers features such as built-in security, Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) for simplified management, a fixed platform, one WAN connection with multiple options, four 10/100 Mbps managed switch ports, up to 10 VPN tunnels and support for wireless local-area network (LAN) standards 802.11b and 802.11g.

The Cisco 800 Series also includes broadband routers that provide extremely secure Internet access and corporate network connectivity to small remote offices and telecommuters. The routers connect to the Internet or corporate networks through an ADSL, ADSL over ISDN, G.SHDSL, or serial connection, or via an Ethernet WAN port connected to an external DSL or cable modem.
