Summit WM200 and Summit WM2000 are modular in design with field replaceable service blades. WM200 and Summit WM2000 offer single-system scalability up to 200 access points for coverage of large enterprise companies to small branch offices. Additionally, an organization can install several Summit WM systems that allow tens of thousands of users to roam across their facility. Summit WM200 and Summit WM2000 controllers allow unified services and policies across wired and wireless networks. This reduces network complexity and makes management easier.

The Summit WM series offers functionality across all WLAN controllers. It is suitable for enterprise voice applications with its extended roaming domains and cross-subnet roaming. The wireless QoS maintains the correct traffic priority from client to destination. Latency sensitive traffic is given priority access using either the SpectraLink Voice Protocol (SVP) or 802.11e/Wireless Multimedia (WMM). The Summit WM QoS capabilities include Call Admission Control (CAC) to manage traffic on the wireless network. Summit WM also helps extend the battery life of Wi-Fi handsets.
