Foundry’s FastIron Edge X Series provides flexibility, reliability, increased security, and broad redundancy for better operational efficiency and faster. FastIron Edge X Series provides a wide range of switches that meet Layer 2/Layer 3 edge, aggregation, or small-network backbone-connectivity requirements. This is accomplished with intelligent network services, including quality of service, performance, advanced security, wide-ranging management, and incorporated resiliency. It is an ideal networking platform to deliver 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

The FastIron Edge X Series features the benefits of a modular set-up that users can pay for as they grow. It also provides value for fixed Ethernet solutions with the addition of a removable, replaceable, load-sharing power supply and 10GbE modules in a 1.5 Rack Unit (RU) form factor. The FastIron Edge X Series can be initially installed using Small Form Pluggable Gigabit Ethernet modules. It can then be upgraded with one or two XFP modules, which extends the usability of the product.
