The HP StorageWorks Modular SAN Array 1000 is designed with the entry-level to mid-range Storage Area Network (SAN) in mind. The 2 Gb Fibre Channel storage system allows the user to easily add storage capacity as needed, with a drive shelf that holds up to fourteen 1” universal disk drives. Additional storage is also possible by using up to two StorageWorks 4314 Enclosures.

An optional 3-port 2 Gb Fibre Channel hub can be added to the HP StorageWorks Modular SAN Array 1000 to provide simple 2-node clustering. Storage space is scalable up to 2.0 TB by using fourteen Ultra3 SCSI HP Universal hard drives, or up to 6.0 TB by utilizing additional StorageWorks enclosures with forty-two drives. Installation and maintenance of the storage pool is made easy through the use of Hot Plug expansion and Replacement.
