The HP StorageWorks 1500 cs Modular Smart Array provides customers with a low cost, high capacity storage solution that can connect to both Serial ATA (SATA) and enterprise-class SCSI disk enclosures. This 2Gb Fibre Channel SAN attached 2U controller provides customers with up to 48 TB of storage capacity, by utilizing up to 8 attached SATA enclosures (96 - 500 GB SATA disk drives), or 16.8 TB with up to four SCSI enclosures (using 56 - 300 GB SCSI disks).

The HP StorageWorks 1500 cs Modular Smart Array has 256 MB of Controller Cache (upgradeable to 512 MB) per controler. Some of the supported operating systems include Microsoft Windows Enterprise Edition 2003, Microsoft Windows Standard Edition 2003, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Edition, HP-UX 11.11 and 11.23, Red Hat Linux Enterprise Advanced Server 2.1 and Enterprise Linux 3.0, and SCO OpenServer 6.0.0.
