The HP StorageWorks Disk System 2120 is
an entry-level, high-capacity 1U
rack-optimized enclosure that features
support for Windows, Linux, and UNIX
operating systems. Four hot pluggable slots
accept disks from 36GB to 300GB, with a
maximum total capacity of 1.2TB. The use of
hot-swappable disks also helps to reduce
repair time, as well as the impact they may
have on the network. Up to 42 enclosures can
be mounted into a single 42U rack to combine
for a total storage capacity of over 50TB.
The HP StorageWorks Disk System 2120 is a
featured packed storage solution that also
offers the industry’s lowest cost. This is a
very flexilbe unit that is backwards
compatible with older U160 SCSI drives, and
can be configured as a low cost RAID
solution (optional CPI disk array or
software RAID required), or as an
inexspensive host-based mirrored storage
solution. Extensive testing has been done
with this product to ensure that it is
compatible with servers, operating systems,
and backup applications from other
manufacturers.
