The HP StorageWorks 70 Modular Smart Array is a low cost, flexible, tiered storage system that provides up to 6.2TB (SATA) or 7.5TB (SAS) of total storage per enclosure. By helping to simplify expansion of Proliant and Integrity servers, it allows users to increase total capacity with external storage without having to utilize NAS or SAN devices. Increased reliability and redundancy can be achieved by adding an additional I/O Module to allow for dual domains support.

Management of the HP StorageWorks 70 Modular Smart Array is simplified through the use of HP Systems Insight Manager. Hard Drives can be added or replaced without disrupting the server through hot plug technology. Various levels of data protection are available through the user selectable RAID configurations. The ability to mix SAS and SATA drives in the same enclosure provides flexibility and added benefits of tiered storage.
