The HP ProCurve Switch 2800 Series is available in two different port configurations. The 24 port switch is equipped with 20 dedicated 10/100/1000 ports, and 4 dual –personality ports that support RJ-45 10/100/1000 or mini-GBIC connectivity. The 48 port switch is equipped with 44 dedicated 10/100/1000 ports, as well as the 4 dual –personality ports.

Access security combined with advanced traffic-monitoring capabilities and prioritization, make the HP ProCurve Switch 2800 Series an ideal solution for secure 10/100/1000 connectivity. Performance is enhanced by the included 48 Gbps (34.7 million pps) or 96 Gbps (up to 69.8 million pps) backplane that provides up to ten times the bandwidth.

Support for up to 24 trunks, with up to 8 links per trunk, are a standard feature made possible through the use of the IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation Protocol (LACP) and ProCurve trunking. By utilizing the Spanning Tree Protocol (IEEE 802.1D), these switches are able to provides redundant links while preventing network loops.
