The HP ProCurve Switch 2900 Series is available in 24 or 48 port configurations. Both configurations come standard with four dual-personality ports that offer either 10/100/1000 or mini-GBIC connectivity. The additional four integrated 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports combine with these features to make the most flexible, easy-to-deploy products in this class.

Static routing, included management features, and robust security make the HP ProCurve Switch 2900 Series a very future proof, cost-effective solution for high-performance networks. sFlow (RFC 3176) provides ASIC-based, scalable, wire-speed network monitoring without impacting network performance. Automated device discovery is made possible by utilizing the IEEE 802.1AB Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP).

Advanced monitoring and reporting capabilities are made possible in the HP ProCurve Switch 2900 Series through the use of RMON and XRMON. Uni-Directional Link Detection (UDLD) is a monitoring service that detects broken cables, and will shut down ports to prevent loops. Automatic learning and dynamic assignment of VLANs is enabled through the use of GARP VLAN Registration Protocol.
