The Used Juniper M5 and Used Juniper M10 routers are
compact, high-performance routing platforms targeted at
environments where space is at a premium. Only 5.25 in
(13.33 cm) in height, the compact design brings
tremendous port density and performance of 5+ and 10+
Gbps througHPut in a very small rack space, supporting
up to 15 routers per rack. The Used Juniper M5 and Used Juniper M10 routers support
ejector-enabled PICs and have built-in Flexible PIC
Concentrators (FPCs). The M5 router supports up to
OC-12c/STM-4 speeds and houses 1 slot for up to 4 PICs.
The M10 router supports up to OC-48c/STM-16 speeds and
houses 2 slots for up to 8 PICs. PICs between the two
routers are interchangeable.
Like other Used Juniper M-series routers, the Used
Juniper M20 router is a high-performance platform built
for a variety of applications. Only 14 in (35.56 cm) in
height, the compact Used Juniper M20 design delivers
incomparable performance of 20+ Gbps througHPut,
scalability, and reliability in a space-efficient
package. An optional redundant switching fabric and
Routing Engine increase system availability and ensures
automatic failover in case of failure. The Used Juniper M20 router supports up to OC-48c/STM-16
speeds and houses 4 slots for up to 16 PICs. M20 and M40
FPCs and PICs are interchangeable; most of these PICs
can be used in the Used Juniper M40e router as well.
The Used Juniper M40 router offers up to 40+ Gbps
througHPut with uncompromising forwarding performance,
rich packet processing, and reliable IP service
delivery. The M40 router delivers the bandwidth required
to cost-efficiently grow networks to OC-48c/STM-16
speeds, while also offering powerful tools, such as
packet filtering, sampling, and MPLS traffic
engineering, to ensure greater control during network
expansion. The Used Juniper M40 router's 35 in (88.9 cm) height
offers higher port counts, housing 8 slots for up to 32
PICs. M20 and M40 FPCs and PICs are interchangeable;
additionally, most of these PICs can be used in the M40e
router.
The Used Juniper M40e router provides a dense, highly
redundant platform primarily for dedicated access
aggregation at the edge and secondly for mid-size cores.
This 40+ Gbps platform provides high-density access
aggregation and offers greater redundancy in the switch
fabric and Routing Engine. As such, it is suitable for
environments such as the service provider edge. The Used Juniper M40e router, also, fits two per rack,
housing 8 slots for up to 32 PICs with speeds up to
OC-48c/STM-16. For investment protection and smooth
migration path, this platform houses three FPC types:
one to accommodate M20 and M40 PICs, and the other two
to accommodate hot-swappable M160 PICs. As well, many
PICs are forward portable to T-series routing platforms.
The Used Juniper M160 router offers up to 8
OC-192c/STM-64 PICs per chassis (16 per rack) or up to
32 OC-48c/STM-16 PICs per chassis (64 per rack) with up
to 160+ Gbps througHPut. The M160 breakthrough ASICs
translate optical bandwidth into new, differentiated IP
services. The M160 platform is ideal for large backbone
cores requiring predictable performance for feature-rich
infrastructures. As well, this core platform is ideal
where switching fabric and Routing Engine redundancy are
required. All major components are field replaceable,
increasing system serviceability and reliability, and
decreasing mean time to repair. For investment
protection and smooth migration path, this platform
supports both M160 and M40e PICs. As well, many PICs are
forward portable to T-series routing platforms.
